Educational Expeditions
We custom design each program based on a dialog with the teachers planning the visit. For ideas, we invite you to explore our sample itineraries.
We can design a program that is purely outdoor education, such as hiking, biking, and paddling the full length of a pristine watershed from mountain springs all the way down to the coral reef.
Your trip can help generate the funds necessary to sponsor an equal number of Belizean students on the same program.
We feel that intensive hands-on education such as this is the only way to make Belizeans truly understand the environmental concerns at stake.
Or your program can include a stronger cultural aspect, focusing on the people that live in these watersheds, their impacts, their issues of development versus conservation, and their relationships with economies thousands of miles away.
We camp along rivers, on farms, and at research stations, or patronize small family-owned retreats and village homestay programs. We work with rural teachers, researchers, farmers, conservationists and a network of local university professors.
Short and medium term research opportunities are available.
Partnership programs with Belizean students are available.
Costs range from about USD $100 to $125 per person per day in Belize, all-inclusive except airfare. The exact cost of your trip will depend on which activities you're interested in, what kind of accomodations you are looking for, and the size of your group.
